About us.
ORIENTING is a research project to develop an operational methodology for product Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment. The main purpose of Orienting to integrate a life cycle approach that includes the analysis of environmental, social and economic impacts.
ORIENTING project is organized in 7 Work Packages (WP) with different goals to achieve. They are lead by the organizations of the consortium and coordinated by the leader partner Tecnalia.
WP 1. Framework and specifications. Lead by Ghent University.
Starting-point that concerns the definition of a criteria-based scheme for the evaluation of existing methods and tools aligned with the UNEP/SETAC framework and the EU circular economy strategy.
WP 2. LCSA Methodology. Lead by VTT Technical Research Center of Finland Ltd.
LCSA methodology development. It includes the progress beyond State-of-the-art for each sustainability domain.
WP 3. LCSA Operationalisation. Lead by Tecnalia.
Operationalise methodological guidelines developed in WP2 by working on software and data and providing additional training materials for LCSA capacity building.
WP 4. Public demonstration. Lead by Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics.
Implementation and test of the ORIENTING methodology in 5 different industrial environments (Ternua, Stora Enso, BASF, LEIBLEIN, Solana).
WP 5. Stakeholders’ engagement and communication. Lead by Ecoinnovazione.
Specific engagement activities tailored to the different groups of stakeholders.
WP 6. Exploitation and dissemination of ORIENTING results. Lead by PRé Sustainability.
Dissemination activities that will ensure that ORIENTING’s outputs find their way to the concerned industrial and scientific communities, life cycle practitioners, company managers and academic researchers.
WP 7. Project management and coordination. Lead by Tecnalia.
