Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment for SMEs online workshop
13th March 2023, 10:00 – 12:00 CET
How does this LCSA methodology apply to SMEs? What benefits does it offer and how does it mesh with all the other policy initiatives of the European Green Deal?
These are the topics that will be discussed during the workshop “Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment for SMEs”, which will be held on Monday, March 13, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The event is aimed at all SMEs interested in understanding how to apply the Orienting’s LCSA methodology to their own reality. It will also be the opportunity to receive an overview of key European policy initiatives and on the role that an LCSA methodology can play in this context, from the perspective of the three main categories of the regulatory landscape:
- Product design: with the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation focused on stimulating the production of products that are energy efficient, last longer, use recycled materials, and based on circular business models.
- Governance: represented by the Corporate Due Diligence Directive aimed at promoting sustainable and responsible corporate behaviour along global value chains.
- Transparency/Communication: with the Digital Product Passport designed to provide easy access to useful data about a product and its supply chain, and the Green Claims Directive that intends to help consumers make more informed choices about the products they buy.
The workshop will be divided into two parts:
- Part one: introduction to the LCSA methodology for SMEs and its role in the framework of key European policy initiatives on sustainability.
- Part two: panel discussion on the topics of LCSA methodology that will engage all participants, the experts and three SMEs, industrial partners of the Orienting project.
